""In May 2023, the 76th World Health Assembly adopted Resolution 76.16 on the Health of Indigenous Peoples. The resolution requests the WHO Director-General to develop a Global Plan of Action for the health of Indigenous Peoples (GPA). As part of the process, WHO is convening a series of hearings with Indigenous Peoples, which are scheduled to take place between 18th March till 31st March.
The deadline for registration is 11 March. "

française - español - portuguesa - русский языкWHO is convening a series of hearings with Indigenous Peoples as part of the process to inform the development of the Global Plan of Action (GPA) for the health of Indigenous Peoples, as requested by Members States through the World Health Assembly Resolution 76.16 and the WHO Constitution’s focus on the right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health, with health entailing a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.In line with WHO’s rules and policies, including the Framework of Engagement with Non‑State Actors (FENSA), hearings are designed to enable participants to present their evidence, views and perspectives, and be questioned about them but do not enter into a debate. All interested entities should be invited on the same basis. These hearings will be held in a listening‑only format. The entity respects the intergovernmental nature of WHO, as well as the decision-making authority of Member StatesThe entity has the authority to speak for its members and has a representative structureThe entity is not to be considered part of the tobacco and/or arms industries, nor does not engage with or work to further the interests of the tobacco industry and the arms industry.
