Mostly harmless. I like cars and computers and lots of other stuff too. Mostly I like to fix things.

May the squirrels live with you forever.

@mcSlibinas @autonerdery I did a lot of my driving practice in my grandparents' Aerostar when I was a kid. It felt pretty big, but the VW eurovans always seemed closer to full-size vans like the Ford Econoline and GMC Safari.

One to go... Please let it be a Dustbuster!

@vwdasher The first one is an E90 Corolla! Took me a while to figure out because we got different taillights here in the US. Rock on!
@mike Pretty sure you need to use a silver bullet... Or maybe just bridge all of the contacts with silver solder?
@joeress Lucky number sevens! (Or. maybe not so lucky for a security-conscious admin)

@joeress Hey Joe, I know forums are old news, but have you heard about the phpbb auth bug? Improper checking allows anyone to log in as any user, including admins. The admin control panel still needs a password, but they can get into moderator tools and add/move/remove posts which is a pretty big deal. https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-48611

A message titled "URGENT WARNING: Critical phpBB Authentication Bypass - UPDATE TO 3.3.17 IMMEDIATELY" seems to be showing up on forums supposedly posted by an admin.

@Luissen @Kuniti_shino And they know they won't be able to get you on the extended warranty!
@latenightlinux The dramatic reading at the end was the cherry on top! As an american who loves my country, I immediately understood the original remark and I think it was a perfectly reasonable and factual thing to say. Even if it would have been meant to disparage what's going on in the US (and it clearly wasn't), I can't imagine being so thin-skinned to write such a long and weaving reply. The fiverr reader really conveyed the vocal scorn nearly to the same level as the classic "Dot Dot Dot".
@eichin @vga256 My friend had a PowerBook G4 and I have always wanted one of my own. I've had both 12” and 14" iBooks and that's probably as close as I'll get at this point.
@vga256 I remember those, I think it was slightly controversial that the battery was glued to the bottom case which made repair more difficult. I had a friend who was a third-party Apple repair tech at the time and he kept ragging on the keyboard and (I think?) the display ribbon cable which was not protected well by the case. Beautiful little machines though, I really thought they'd replace the MacBook Air if they'd stick around longer.
@vfrmedia @lynnesbian Here in Wisconsin our personalized plates don't allow the letters I or O, requiring 1 and 0 to be used instead. For regular plates they don't use I and O in the letter group. (Not sure about the rest of the US as every state has their own license plate system.) I got personalized plates for the first time this year but didn't have either of those letters in mine.
