Mostly harmless. I like cars and computers and lots of other stuff too. Mostly I like to fix things.

May the squirrels live with you forever.

@Luissen @Kuniti_shino And they know they won't be able to get you on the extended warranty!
@latenightlinux The dramatic reading at the end was the cherry on top! As an american who loves my country, I immediately understood the original remark and I think it was a perfectly reasonable and factual thing to say. Even if it would have been meant to disparage what's going on in the US (and it clearly wasn't), I can't imagine being so thin-skinned to write such a long and weaving reply. The fiverr reader really conveyed the vocal scorn nearly to the same level as the classic "Dot Dot Dot".
@eichin @vga256 My friend had a PowerBook G4 and I have always wanted one of my own. I've had both 12” and 14" iBooks and that's probably as close as I'll get at this point.
@vga256 I remember those, I think it was slightly controversial that the battery was glued to the bottom case which made repair more difficult. I had a friend who was a third-party Apple repair tech at the time and he kept ragging on the keyboard and (I think?) the display ribbon cable which was not protected well by the case. Beautiful little machines though, I really thought they'd replace the MacBook Air if they'd stick around longer.
@vfrmedia @lynnesbian Here in Wisconsin our personalized plates don't allow the letters I or O, requiring 1 and 0 to be used instead. For regular plates they don't use I and O in the letter group. (Not sure about the rest of the US as every state has their own license plate system.) I got personalized plates for the first time this year but didn't have either of those letters in mine.

@brie Ooh, this would drive me nuts. I wonder if the red sandstone had become more expensive or in shorter supply, or if the intention was to cover the gable with a facade as appears to have happened on the transept.

Or perhaps there was a conscious and active rejection of the aesthetic appearance as a distraction from the Divine, and from what little I know of Cistercian tradition that would be my best guess.

@ellnix @JoeRess I remember seeing the ads for it when it came out and thinking, you couldn't _pay_ me to leave my kid alone with that thing. I spent a lot of time as a kid talking to chatbots in an attempt to fake social connection, but ultimately it did me no favors... This seemed like the same idea with a shiny new coat of ✨AI✨ paint and a creepy little robot body. I feel sorry for the kids in this situation, but really, I sort of already did.
@gtucker5 @retrotechtive I have one, though it tends to get neglected... I've found lot more software for my CoCo and Apple ][ so they usually get the place of honor on the desk.
