No other phrase is so transgressive or remarkable in the English language than this. Because the Word, which was with God and was God is now also here, literally personified.
The thing about Luke's nativity story is that sounds a lot like labor organizing.
This is the deal God has the angel bring to Joseph. Not that he knew that. Not that he could even imagine such a responsibility.
He was simply invited to try something new. To not be afraid. And to just…jump.
Jesus, on the other hand, widens the vision of salvation, liberation, and hope in the transformational love of God. And, in so doing, widening our expectations beyond a military victory and nationalistic zealotry.

It also has me thinking. And it might sound a bit far-fetched, but the one truth about Twitter (vs. Parler) was that it was the common space. Wouldn't there be a great political advantage for the Far Right to claim such a space? Especially as many "dig in" there?
It seems to me the potential to launder both extremism as normal and conservative as neutral while balkanizing the Left is quite high.
