Wiki afficionado. "A good eater" according to my grandma. English/Canadian/he/him. VRM @ Rapid7/views my own. Kindness rules.

I write Patch Tuesday analysis every month at the day job: https://www.rapid7.com/blog/tag/patch-tuesday/

@synfinatic Also, what are the rest of those questions? Several of them look like PG variations of those evergreen reddit “What is the sexiest sex you ever sexed?” posts.
@rk I mean, we’re none of us as young as as we once were. Sad but true.

Apache httpd, curl, Django, Firefox, glibc, GnuTLS, Haproxy, libssh, Linux kernel, python, Temporal, Wireshark, wolfSSL

More?

@daniel_ferradal_marquez @bagder I imagine there’s no decrease in the amount of slop reports though? Just an increase in the number of apparently high quality reports.

Interesting to see this the same day this got announced: https://www.anthropic.com/glasswing

Project Glasswing: Securing critical software for the AI era

A new initiative to secure the world’s most critical software and give defenders a durable advantage in the coming AI-driven era of cybersecurity.

I always say “please” and “thank you” to every corporate AI system I interact with.

Not because I hope our robot overlords will spare me.

A little bit because I find it less stressful than being abrupt to the point of rudeness, even to a computer with no feelings or awareness.

Mostly because Sam Altman is an insufferable dweeb though.

@rk I’ve read it to 11yo this year over the course of several weeks at bedtime.

Both 11yo and 8yo will give me some very direct feedback if I don’t get all the voices right in whatever I read to them, which is of course literally their birthright.

Vorbis was easy. I just infuse him a blend of “execute Order 66” and “creepy guy who you just know used to pull the wings off of butterflies as a child”.

Om is a high pitched insistent exasperated wheedling.

The philosophers are from Yorkshire.

Simony is “generic SAS man in a movie who never smiles”.

St. Ungulant is very fun to read, and whatever you’re imagining, that’s how I read him.

I give Brutha a Brummie accent for reasons unclear even to me, but I maintain that this was the right choice.

@rk if I may be mildly sacrilegious for a moment, Terry Pratchett went two better with the Septateuch in Small Gods
@todb it’s automatically synced itself with the AHA! GNA ID

"If anyone ever corners you at a party and talks at length about the Ancillary Function Driver as a bounteous source of elevation of privilege vulnerabilities, you will probably have to concede that they are technically correct. While your options include “doing a lap” and then climbing out of the bathroom window, the power move here is to hold your ground, and point to the Common Log File System driver as a far richer vein of exploitable goodness." 🤣

As far as I’m concerned, I wrote that bit just for you @xorhex. Glad you liked it!
