Some professional news:

1. I’m now a Special Rapporteur for the Cyber Resilience Act.

2. My company is hiring EU subcontractors with network and security expertise!

Bow Shock Systems won a contract with ETSI to lead development of "vertical" cybersecurity standards for specific products. I'm leading the one for operating systems.

We're looking for people with technical expertise and leadership ability to lead three other verticals.

Because of reasons, it occurred to me to measure the voltage across a USB cable (shield on one side to shield on the other side).

It was 25mV. That feels very wrong to me; but I have no reference or experience in such matters. Anyone knows?

Ausgangs-Spannung: EU Plug

Today we’re quietly (and finally!) opening up Railfinder to the public! This is our beta version and - hopefully - the first step towards that one booking site for trains across Europe that we all dream of.

Lots of work has gone into this and equally lots still to do before reach that vision, but if you’d like to try what we’ve built you can now just go to https://www.railfinder.eu and have a go!

Any and all feedback more than welcome 🙏

Hardware problems? I'll fix it in software.

The g-code sending "quick-hack" now extracts safe restart points from the g-code, cycles the device FD, flushes the kernel read buffers and resumes from the last restart point. (This "solution" is not useful for 3D-printers.)

the Schmitt trigger, the one used in basically all digital electronics, is inspired by a biological object? More specifically, _the_ squid giant axon?? I can't believe I'm only learning this now despite hearing a lot of things about Schmitt triggers _and_ squid giant axons!

Making sure you're not a bot!
