The DPG Standard verifies that open source projects respect privacy, do no harm, and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We hope this encourages more governments to support and invest in the technology they depend on.

After Wikipedia and Wikidata were recognised as #DigitalPublicGoods in 2025, the Wikimedia Foundation now joins the #DPGA to help strengthen the global DPG ecosystem through open knowledge infrastructure, public interest AI, and inclusive digital participation.
