I mostly post only when I have something unique to say. I boost often, and reply when I have something novel to add. I mostly read posts , and enjoy not having some AI bot jerking me around with reccomendations.
JustSayingThe “main goal” of the Iran War may have changed, reports Washington Post: “Israeli officials said securing the [Strait of Hormuz] for energy shipments could become the war’s main goal now that regime change and ending Iran’s ability to obtain a nuclear weapon seem out of reach.”
So the AIM is try to have what we had before the illegal war, but at higher cost and less fuel supply having bombed it.
And all for the cost of 200 Billion and counting

These past 11 months have been easily the most miserable era in America in my lifetime.

Prof. Sam LawlerI just proofread the American Astronomical Society response to SpaceX's response to AAS's petition to deny on SpaceX's million sat filing. It's a great document, but the fact that we need to say any of this (and spend volunteer time fighting SpaceX's highly paid lawyers) is completely infuriating.
I need to go outside now, really tough that I'm in a city and don't have a hay field available for easy rage-screaming.

The US Federal Reserve (that regulates US banks) is about to reduce the capital adequacy requirement for banks (raised in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis).
Of course, nearly 20 years after the global financial crisis, regulators & bankers may say they've learned the lessons of 2008, but what they really mean is they've (wilfully) forgotten them.
Just one more act bringing a crisis nearer (as if attacking Iran wasn't;t enough)!
