When I've had a week where I can't do anything with my hands and have the most boring "vacation" ever, nothing makes me happier than a nice bowl of iced chicken jelly.
...it to the cultural commission, I felt that it was important that it had my actual initials on there. It may be the first piece of art with my legal name on it since the nineties.
So while my hand isn't at a 100%, my house is a 100% messy. So I'm trying to cleanup around here.
While cleaning up the dining room, I came across the scraps of the stencil project and noticed the initials that I cut out on there. It's rare that I actually sign a piece of art with my given name. I always use Jenn Dolari as my creative name, and I even consider the internet stuff that I do under that banner as creative. It's writing.
But since this was for the city, and this was me giving...
This crow is actually one that visits our the backyard. We got a good picture of it, and now he's immortalized forever on the sidewalks of our quaint little town. It also hurt my hand, like really badly, and is probably the main reason why I've got tendonitis right now. But it was worth driving through the pain to make sure that our little crow in the backyard is now forever a part in our little town.
And so here's the art piece that I created for our city's RainWorks project, my last effort, lastproject for our Cultural Commission, which I had to leave when I got elected to City Council. But it was a lot of fun to do, trying to figure out what was negative space and positive space and make sure that it still looked like a crow.
