@georgetakei But I am confused now. Weren’t vaccines the cause? :-)

CNN's media critic, Brian Stelter, says Disney's CEO is in a "no-win" situation because he has to choose between Trump and his company's reputation.

Think about that -- the notion that choosing integrity means losing. Think about what it says about American media in these grotesque times.

Making the honorable choice might mean losing some money. But having history remember you as a quisling to fascists and a traitor to human rights? That's a vastly greater defeat.

@filippo (Thank you for the plug!)
@RememberUsAlways Explain this to a non-America: what is this tax trap?
@filippo I do not always agree with you, but this is spot on. QKD is not scalable and you still need some preshared secret to make it work. But once you have preshared secret you can use a PKI and it is more robust, efficient, and scalable. You just need it to be PQ. Like ML-KEM (shameless plug…).

"Lack of scalability is enough for us to disqualify QKD outright: if a technology can’t bring security to the whole Internet, we’re not going to spend much time on it."

Quantum Key Distribution (as opposed to post-quantum cryptography) has a number of problems, but this succinctly captures the core issue.

You don’t need quantum hardware for post-quantum security

Post-quantum cryptography protects against quantum threats using today’s hardware. Quantum tech like QKD may sound appealing, but it isn’t necessary or sufficient to secure organizations.

@allo Nah, busy beavers are busier than that :-)

There is a religious order with a tradition of singing sacred music in a jazzy style. The members of the order are known as the Thelonious Monks.
I know @againsthimself will love this 2FA implementation.
