Tried out the solar filter that came with the SeeStar today. Decent enough, but what it really makes me want to do is finally buy a solar filter for my long lens.

When I buy a used book that has the prior owner's name in it, and there are enough breadcrumbs, I exercise my research chops and put together a mini-bio of that owner to leave in the book for perpetuity.

π day Pie. Nothing particularly fancy this time around, just blueberry.

Gluten-free crust, though, for to deal with new dietary restrictions in the house. Tried using the "1-for-1 swap" GF flour from Bob's Red Mill. While I'd bet it works fine in something like cookies or quick breads, it behaves differently enough from wheat flour that pie crusts will take some more experimentation.

Great show tonight by Michael Shannon, Jason Narducy, and friends at the Royale covering all of REM's "Life's Rich Pageant" and a solid hour and a half of other songs across REM's catalog.

Show had that "everyone in my peripheral vision is a young adult but when I turn to look they're oldsters like me" thing happening for me.

(Yes, my brain entertained itself by reminding me I was seeing General Zod singing "I Am Superman".)
