got dismissed by a rando on bsky for suggesting people join mastodon with "2026 is not the year of Linux on the desktop" and it's just... I seriously don't understand what the complicated part of mastodon is supposed to be? it's literally an app on my phone! I joined the same server where the people I wanted to follow were posting!
(*with the admission that I Am A Doofus*) I still don't understand why social networks can't just be a series of basically RSS feeds and readers, other than of course because there's that wouldn't make anyone any money.
