My @discographyfm channel on YouTube focuses on preserving music that didn't make it into the digital age.

One of the barriers to sharing more of my collection there is imagery for the video stream. This is very time consuming to create by hand.

So I've written a python script that loops through a folder of audio files and uses the metadata it finds to generate these static images.

These bands both feature Nate Ruess (Fun.) and Sam Means of The Format as young punks.

The DATPIFF folks have come through on their announcement this year, and they've uploaded 350,000 hip hop mixtapes to the Internet Archive! What a great way to celebrate Hip-Hop's 50th year.
