Witty Wednesday is here.

Favourite research acronym? Project names, tools, badly named things that somehow made it through peer review.

We'll start: Copper Nanotubes = CuNT. Published in the scientific literature. Someone approved this.
Drop your comments. The wittier the better.

During OSR26UK, researchers, librarians and open science advocates came together for five days with nothing but a wall of sticky notes and exciting ideas.

First up in our unconference series: Group 1- Sustainable Computing. Inspired by the Centre for Alternative Technology, they left Wales with a live wiki, an ecological metaphor for sustainable tech, and the foundation for a Masters programme.

More groups coming. Watch this space.

Still planning events the same old way? Rows of chairs, endless slides, rushed coffee-break networking?

Unorgodox says there’s another way.

This creative training programme rethinks events as spaces for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation.

16 + 18 June: Online Event Laboratory with DRA
Summer: Reflect during conference season
17–18 Sept: Workshop at University of Warwick
Travel/accommodation covered

First impressions of Wales are fantastic. Had a great lunch and found our way to the Center of Alternative Technology (thanks to the kind and funny bus driver 😁).

Today at the Open Science Retreat is all about adventure. Looking forward to how it will unfold. #OSR26UK
I'm at the Centre for Alternative Technology this week with @digiresacademy - what a beautiful place to think about how we can shape the academic ecosystem – perhaps along ecological principles. 🌱 πŸ’š
