US will be exempt from global tax deal
This is a crazy news and the wording here doesn't really let it show.
Excluding US corporations doesn't "water down" the agreement as much as render it moot since they're the ones evading taxes on a massive scale.
And "angering tax transparency groups" is a nice euphemism for ruining the world by letting the wealthiest rake massive profits from society without having to pay a penny of its running cost.

... and straight away came across three papers that he co-authored that go against the decision to classify glyphosate as carcinogenic.
I'm not a scientist and i'd like to know: shouldn't all of his papers that relate to this subject also be pulled?
After 25 years, a very influential study about glyphosate (Roundup™) that showed that it wasn't linked to cancer, got retracted. Turns out it had been written by Monsanto, the company who sold the herbicide, and not by the 3 scientists who signed the paper.
Since the article mentions the "authors" names, i searched the first one....
