Inside a shelter in northern #Gaza, Ahlam and her daughter Hanadi preserve Palestinian heritage through traditional embroidery stitch by stitch.

Ahlam learned embroidery over 30 years ago at an UNRWA school in Beit Hanoun. Today, she and her daughter continue embroidering despite war and displacement.

Het is geen incident, zegt Amnesty International in een nieuw rapport. Het is het resultaat van een stelselmatige campagne om Palestijnse gemeenschappen van hun land te verdrijven, uitgevoerd met de steun van de Israëlische staat. Cijfers achter de verhalen

Tussen januari 2023 en april 2026 zijn ten minste 117 gemeenschappen geheel of gedeeltelijk ontheemd. Israëlische autoriteiten sloopten in diezelfde periode ruim drieduizend Palestijnse woningen in de zogeheten 'Zone C', dat ongeveer 60 procent van de Westelijke Jordaanoever beslaat en onder volledige illegale controle van Israël staat. Tegelijkertijd steeg het budget van het Israëlische ministerie voor nederzettingen met 122 procent."

Straffeloosheid

Gisteren kondigden het Verenigd-Koninkrijk, Frankrijk, Canada, Australië en Nieuw-Zeeland nieuwe sancties aan vanwege het toenemende geweld op de Westelijke Jordaanoever. Hier sloot Nederland zich niet bij aan."

Due to the lack of raw materials, such as wood, needed to make bedroom sets, rubble is broken apart and steel reinforcement bars are extracted from it. These bars are then used to make bedroom sets for newlyweds.
