@merleeperle.bsky.social no. The cloud act has nothing to do with Signal since they don't collect data.
@carnage4life they say it's helping them, but is there independent evidence there is? There was just that study published about AI in coding where people thought it was helping, but they actually took longer using AI.
@merleeperle.bsky.social @strang_out The Clouf Act has no relevance to Signal. It compels companies to disclose fats they already have. Signal doesn't have your data. Please stop your daily lies.
@HappyPinto @mzm the cloud act has nothing to do with metadata collection. Also, there are several entities which can monitor traffic and collect metadata, such as Team Cymru. How does Threema protect against that?

@merleeperle.bsky.social Stop lying. Signal never sent data to any governments.

Just because Signal runs in public clouds doesn’t make it insecure. Also, adversaries can monitor traffic to/from Threema.

@kkarhan Your post has nothing to do with memory tagging. It’s just more shitposting. Signal does not discriminate against users. This is a lie.

Your endless fear mongering about Aognal is actively harmful.

Delta chat is garbage. It lacks forward secrecy, doesn’t rotate keys, lacks post-quantum security. It’s based on obsolete tech. XMPP leaks metadata. It’s irresponsible to recommend either in 2025.

@Linux @Avitus You have no evidence that Signal has provided data to any government or third party (aside from the pittance of data on the big brother page). Your posts are fear-mongering lies and are actively harmful.
@Linux These aren’t comparable. Delta chat, for example, lacks forward secrecy and doesn’t protect metadata, both of which Signal has. Your posts are fear-mongering and harmful.
@merleeperle.bsky.social Multiple entities can monitor backbone traffic. How does Threema protect against Team Cymru, for example?
@merleeperle.bsky.social this is more fear-mongering and lying from you. Quoting from the article, "To be clear, this is not a security issue in Signal."
