Colorado History Rides - G Line

Colorado History Rides, in collaboration with RTD and the Denver Regional Council, is hosting a community bike ride that showcases several G Line stations. Participants will meet at Clear Creek - Federal Station for a ~9-mile bike ride. Learn about the history of Arvada and the significace of the names of G Line stations. The ride concludes at Wheat Ridge - Ward Station, where participants can take the G Line back to Clear Creek - Federal Station or their starting destination.  RTD staff will be situated at Denver Union Station, Track 7 starting at 4:30 p.m. to assist participants with loading their bike on the G Line.  This is a no-drop ride with only 340 feet of elevation gain. The route follows several trails and bike-friendly roads. Helmets and a signed waiver are required.

Men are 2.6x more likely than women to bike to work. Study finds where protected bike lane coverage is higher, women’s cycling rates rise significantly faster than men’s. Where coverage is limited or fragmented, women’s participation drops more sharply. c/o [email protected]

Why are the #ColoradoRockies and the city of #Denver putting bicyclists in danger days before a game? Even more, why are they closing the bike lane to begin with, making it difficult to attend a game by bike? #bikeDen

Remember, car dependency is never freedom. Mobility freedom comes from mobility choices. #UrbanTruth
You don't have to hate cars, but you should absolutely hate forced car dependency. This latest video from NJB breaks down the true cost of motonormativity, from subsidized sprawl and noise pollution to the physical destruction of our cities.

Imagine hopping on your bike to the nearest bus or rail stop to go downtown. Then switch to Front Range Passenger Rail to Colorado Springs or Fort Collins. Then spend the day biking around a new city, seeing the sights, eating at the cafes, drinking at the breweries. Then ride back the station and home again by train, with a short bike ride to top it off. Bikes plus trains, what a dream! #bikeDen #bikeTooter #denver #colorado #ColoradoSprings #FortCollins #Pueblo

CO: New Colorado passenger rail project would cover old footprint

As early as this fall, Front Range voters could see a ballot question to fund the expansion of passenger rail from Pueblo to Fort Collins.

Mass Transit
People have a moral panic over a cyclist making them uncomfortable, but vehicular violence gets a free pass. Motorists make the case every single day for hardening our streets and restricting their access. We have to stop accepting this threat and start controlling it.

We recently learned that a crucial section of Edgewater’s Sheridan Corridor Multimodal Plan, between W 17th and W 26th avenues in Northwest Denver, has been degraded to prioritize traffic flow and remove safer access by wheelchair, bicycle and scooter. The last-minute changes to a finalized “multimodal” plan presented in 2022 to community members. Learn more: https://envisionedgewaterco.com/sheridan-plan
