@blind_mapmaker @georgetakei That's exactly what I was thinking. Reddit is full of this kind of nonsense, which is one reason I stopped using it.
@jenniebreeden And probably, in some places, to keep them from getting measles. Or to keep them from being bullied for their gender identity. Or their ethnicity. (And the list goes on.)
@deviantollam I ran into this very recently at a convention hotel in Tacoma. Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner, all in the same bottles mounted on the shower wall. Interestingly, the company making the products only sells to hotels, so you'd think the issue might have occurred to them.
As a side note, they were pretty good products that I might have considered buying for home use -- but can't.
@NanoRaptor Maybe not technically a "wild" animal, but I had a conversation with a parrot at the Santa Barbara zoo. He (she? I don't know much about parrots) was on a tree perch in an open enclosure, and there weren't many people around. I looked at it and said hello, he answered "hello" and I asked "where are you from?"
"Golden Gate park," he replied.
"You mean Golden Gate park, San Francisco?"
"Ya, Golden Gate park San Francisco."
"How long have you been here?"
"Three years."
"Golden Gate park," he replied.
"You mean Golden Gate park, San Francisco?"
"Ya, Golden Gate park San Francisco."
