I am a man with too many passions and hobbies. I love making music, code, and food.

I find following the news is more interesting than watching TV shows. Yoga to counteract the chair-life.

I apparently don't like sleep or rest.

Imagine knowing how a device will actually perform in your home before you buy it 💡 We're building a database to make that happen!

@vim I've been using Bitwig on Linux for years. They have some features around migrating Ableton projects over, and using tools like yabridge + wine for VSTs has been very successful for me (with a few bumps in the road).

Bitwig's core engineers used to work for Ableton, so it won't feel wildly different, but it can go (in my humble opinion) way deeper.

Speaker Mike Johnson gives off strong Smithers vibes.

Transcript of CounterSpin's interview with Victor Pickard on the Paramount settlement:

"We really need to move our frame of analysis from just condemning the latest media malfeasance to really condemning the entire hypercommercialized media system in which we are all immersed.... We also need to radically democratize our media, from root to branch, & that means bringing it back down to the local level, making sure that our media are owned and controlled by the public."

‘The Current Commercial System Will Always Fail Democracy’: CounterSpin interview with Victor Pickard on Paramount settlement

"Much of what we're talking about is really trying to figure out the structures that would allow journalists to be journalists."

@ohmrun that is wild! What a great idea

More visual stuff on metaharmony.

The left sequencer plays the hypercube, the right sequencer dials in diatonic notes.

@hypomodern @csalzman @george @steiza The real value to me, and the experiment I am sketching out, is being able to have a server-rendered web document be able to cleanly support eventually-consistent, event-driven workflows.

The real-time-ness of it is also attractive.

But I'm going to test out the assertion that it can be implemented in a very "maximal minimalist" way. They claim the extra stuff is just as-you-like.

@hypomodern @csalzman @george @steiza that's interesting. I see datastar as a kind of marriage between htmx, Vue and Ember. I'm working on a little MVP project with it right now, not very far in though.

The promise of it is that they give you some sugary conventions, just so you can make some quick moves, but that you could also recreate something like htmx from simpler primitives if you want.

@csalzman @hypomodern @george @steiza yeah, the data-star guy has a lot of "strong opinions, _strongly_ held"
