Last Thursday, we held a small hackathon to prepare our micro-Internet workshop for @clt_news (CLT2026). Setting up the small Linux routers was a real blast with RouterKit, a framework for software routers currently under development. Thanks to every tasty dal from Maurice, we were able to hack late into the night. We are looking forward to CLT 2026 :)
Ende März findet wieder eine unserer Lieblingsveranstaltungen statt: die @clt_news. Auch dieses Jahr beteiligt sich DD-IX mit einem Workshop und einem Vortrag am Programm. @m4rc3l erklärt, wie mit ifstate und NixOS eine vollständig deklarative Netzwerkkonfiguration erreicht werden kann. Es ist sehr schön, so viele begeisterte und enthusiastische Personen hier in Dresden versammelt zu sehen. Und der DD-IX ist mittendrin! Viele coole Ideen und Projekte zu digitaler Souveränität und moderner digitaler Infrastruktur.
🇬🇧 On the 24th of October, we held our general meeting for the year 2025. We would like to thank everyone for the excellent attendance rate of 77% and the great engagement of our members. The general meeting also brought about changes in our board. @melody will step down as our chairman after two years, and @revol_xut will take over her position as chairman of DD-IX e.V. We are also excited to welcome @akiontke as a new member of our board.
🇩🇪 Am 24. Oktober fand unsere Mitgliederversammlung für das Jahr 2025 statt. Wir bedanken uns für die hervorragende Anwesenheitsquote von 77% und das große Engagement unserer Mitglieder. Die Mitgliederversammlung brachte auch Änderungen im Vorstand mit sich. @melody wird nach zwei Jahren als unsere Vorstandsvorsitzende ausscheiden, und @revol_xut wird ihren Posten als Vorsitzender des DD-IX e.V. übernehmen. Außerdem freuen wir uns, @akiontke als neues Vorstandsmitglied begrüßen zu dürfen.
The feedback and interest for IXpect has been very positive so far, so we decided to organize an IXpect workshop together with Arnold Nipper and Mauricio Oviedo. In this workshop, @m4rc3l @liske and @revol_xut will explain the basics of peering LAN hygiene, how IXpect works, and will demonstrate a deployment inside our DD-IX lab.

DD-IX released a new open source tool, which is looking for users and contributors.
A year ago, when we wrote our RIPE Labs[1] article series, we realized that most peering LAN monitoring tools were incomplete, outdated, or even deprecated. Since then, we have been developing IXpect, a new tool written in Rust. IXpect connects to your peering LAN, checks incoming BUM traffic with various probes, and notifies administrators about suspicious events.
