Ham Radio Challenge 2025 - Week 13: Make a QSO from an unusual location and post a picture!

HC13S @hamchallenge #HAMChallenge #hamchallenge2025

Unusual Location for me was the visit to ED1R for the CQ WPX contest. A Special Location and a great engineered station. We did 4895 QSOs and ranked 5# World #3 Europe #1 EA

HC16S @hamchallenge

Made my first two actively chased #pota contacts today with EI6IF and M1DDD. Uploaded my log to pota.app to verify the P2P contacts.

The BCC spring QSO party was a nice opportunity to meet many of the fellow BCC members.

Thanks @DJ5CW for 80M #cw contact.

Regarding the #hamchallenge, time to tick off the challenges HC06S, HC30S, HC33S and HC38S

Ham Radio Challenge 2025 - Week 7: Find out which DXpeditions are active this week

My primary source for DXpedition information is https://www.dx-world.net and its featured DXpedition timeline.

Second source is the DX MB of DARC (https://www.darc.de/der-club/referate/dx/en/dxnl/).

A quite useful tool I recently started to use is HamAlert (https://hamalert.org/) where I configured missing DXCCs and DXpeditions I don't want to miss.

Let's see how many of them will be on my list after this week HC07

Oh - upgrade for my radials?

@dh1tw

Still happy with putting together the station, firing up the shack computer, wiring the stuff together.

Ok, #hamchallenge HC03 update. Not yet achieved so will keep this open.

@hamchallenge

Someone suggested to build an app using the RBNs to plot possible propation paths. I remember a post of HB9VQQ on the other platform. He configured a beautiful visualization in Grafana at https://grafana.gafner.net/

Tnx @DJ5CW for this nice challenge #hamchallenge

Final day of the #hamradio #challenge to monitor as many NCDXF IARU beacons in one week as possible.

I remember having used the beacons very early to detect possible band openings. This has been very useful especially in times with low solar activity and low MUF. Hearing a beacon on 10M or 12M helped detecting the higher band openings.

This week I used the WebSDR from http://kiwisdr.com/public/ but I remember also FAROS as windows application.
