🚨 New piece out in 4S Backchannels 🚨
~24% of last year's 4S papers were about AI (I counted).
An entire field devoted to the social scientific study of science and technology-and 24% of us chose AI. Including me.
Yes, there's lots of good critical work out there, but there's a cost to giving it this much regard at all.
As STS folks like to say, It matters what matters we think other matters with.
Delighted that my tomato seed-saving experiment seems to have succeeded so far!
Both the Sungolds and Cherokee Purples had pretty good germination rates, and more importantly, I now feel like a mad scientist. MWAAHHHAHHHHAAAA!
