I'm filled with a deep, steady anger when the cruelty is treated as normal, or, even worse, justified. These are our neighbors, friends, and family and deserve to be treated with respect and decency, especially by our government. If you can't see that, it's time for you to unfollow me. We have nothing in common.

When I hear anyone say that people there (or anywhere) deserve what ICE is doing, something in me snaps. They are just like you and me - trying to live life. Families are being torn apart, kids afraid to go to school, and entire communities trying to stay safe from their own federal government. 2/4

I lived in Minnesota from 2008-2013 (Twin Cities) and 2016-2024 (Mankato) and visited when I didn't live there those 3 years. I earned my PhD in Minnesota. I think of Minnesota in small, ordinary moments - the crunch of snow, the hikes with my women's hiking club, and meals with friends. 1/4
