I draw comics and stuff. I try to be nice, I really do.
For this one, the complication is that I want to work in double page spreads, with full bleed. So it matters! I don’t want the panels all bunched up near the crease, or weirdly shifted over to the edge of the page.

Any of you lot have experience making comics in digest format? I don’t know if this comic I’m working on will ever see print, but I’d like it to be possible- so today I was researching what bleed, trim & live measurements I need to be working with, and it seems really inconsistent printer to printer.

I’m used to either formatting for US size, which is pretty standardised, or formatting purely for web but in a way designed to be easily adapted to print in any size (no full bleed, basically).

I keep using bluesky, all the time thinking how much better mastodon is, while not posting here
ok here it is. how to set up your very own single-user mastodon instance and run it free forever. boosts ok in case it's useful to anyone who wants to set one up. i recommend doing it simply for fun and for the learning experience. good luck! https://josh.is-cool.dev/running-a-mastodon-instance-entirely-free-forever/

Happy new year, fuckers
Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals

In all, Blusky's success proves that when shit goes south, instead of having faith in community efforts, we will all still invest everything into corporations. No matter how unfinished and closed off it is.

We will wait for the rich

But not for our friends.

That's our choice.

That's Bluesky.

And now, thanks to the investments WE made, a billionaire gets to keep his money.

And another open-source alternative becomes just that,
The Alternative.

We could have had something. It was right there.
But no.

Bluesky.
