Turned off the mat GitHub LLM learning thing. My code is mine. The result of my mind and labor. It holds an intrinsic value to my identity and my work. If they want it, pay me.
Guessing no-one at Apple checked what happens when you have folder sharing on and Finder displays the opaque bar at the top... obviously looks even worse further right you go.

Saw a toot about LLMs which stated that while it is a democratizing force it would make a “free” thing into a “paid” thing.

Yes… but no?

Younger devs may not know how much we used to have to *pay*. Turbo Pascal, Code Warrior, MSDN licenses and ADC memberships used to cost real money!

Free compilers and IDEs are kinda new in the scope of the personal computer era. Just a friendly reminder to know your history. Maybe LLMs are the new compilers. If they follow history, they’ll soon be free.

LOL that El Presidente doesn’t get the idea that if you break it, you buy it. General Powell said if you break it, you own/fix it. These people are not smart.

“I got laid off today” is becoming a common refrain amongst my tribe.

I stopped being paid attention to for recruiting when I hit 50 and the next year, LLMs happened.
