Well, *I’m* still working on #Stargate, at least…
*gently grabs the cheeks of all programmers to stare deeply into their eyes*
All I want is a dry tech manual. A boring, well indexed manual that defines every function. Not a chatbot. Not a training. Not a million "articles" that I have to search through. Not a "community forum".
My rice cooker came with one. I want one for every piece of software I have to interact with.
Go get yourself a technical writer if necessary.
I. Want. An. Instructional. Manual.
Checked my website analytics for the first time in a while, and found that I've made a typo on a job application or career page at some point in the past three months ("reel/“ in a URL was entered as "reell"). There's not much of a clue of where the typo is, or if it's a one-off or posted somewhere on-line.
I added a redirect, since I can't know how long it's going to be out there. Now no one ever has to know about my embarrassing error (or probably some kind of OCR glitch?). Except all of you.
After I made the latest version of my Stargate CG models a few years ago, I wanted to also post a guide with my research notes, to help people who were working on their own projects.
If I can help just one person resist the siren call of looking up pictures of the SG-1 stargate when making the Atlantis version (or vice-versa), it'll have all been worth it. Seriously, don't do it, the Atlantis version may look the same at first glance, but was totally new.
