Installing a recent version of R on Raspbian is harder than I thought.
I also learned that it is probably easier to buy another Raspberry Pi than try to emulate one for software testing. Silly me.
I used Docker for the first time today. I'm still wrapping my mind around the concept of a container and how that differs from a VM, but I see a lot of potential there, once I learn to use it.

I really like that I can host my own instance if I want (which I may do, if I get a little bored one of these days) and still participate in the larger network. Such a distributed network (where the code is open as well) seems harder to kill. It seems more like the internet itself. More pure. Less of this client-server architecture, and more distributed community.
