So, relatively good news. Looks like I can stand up my own Mastodon server over at Digital Ocean. :). Stay tuned as I may be putting together an experiment to see how this all works. :)

honestly, I'd love to see an academic instance of Mastodon. I know that @sawherry had initially jumped on the idea of Discord instance for academics. This might be more...plausible? what do you think? #academic #academicchatter
