It’s totally cheeseball, but I had to watch “Independence Day” tonight heading into the holiday. But you know what, out of the raft of 90’s disaster flicks, I think this one mostly holds up. It’s got some Swiss-cheese holes and a LOT of dumb dialog, but it’s fun and weirdly moving in parts. Totally the type of movie that’s MADE for the theater experience #movies #90s #IndependenceDay

Finally digging into this one. Lots of guest stars (Chris Robinson, Gary Cherone, Terry Reid, Robin Zander, David Johansen) and at least one cool instrumental (“Man with the Golden Arm”). The great Jack Douglas and Joe’s fellow Hollywood Vampire Johnny Depp are among the producers. Sunday listening sorted. #vinyl
