As you may have heard, #WhatsApp seems to be #down for some users.

However, that's not a good argument for switching to federated services like #Matrix, since the same could happen to either the sender's or the recipient's home server, which would have the same result for the end user.

I read it because I got a notification from them asking me to enable first-party (!) analytics. As a developer myself (c.f. @pixelcodeapps), I understand how valuable analytics and stats can be, so I consented.

#russian dictator #putin has personally granted #whistleblower #EdwardSnowden citizenship. I wished #Europe would finally grant him asylum, so that such highly questionable political signals could be avoided.

Unfortunately, in view of the #West's unity regarding #russia's war it seems unlikely that any of the #US' allies would dare to jeopardise the diplomatic relations over someone as “irrelevant” as #Snowden in the context of the #war.
