BlueSky wants you to trust them, but they raised $100 million from a crypto fund almost a YEAR AGO and didn't tell anyone.

"In under three weeks, an unsupervised AI agent deployed by someone who didn’t want to make a Wikipedia account created an incident which took multiple admins and a dozen editors a non-trivial amount of time to resolve, and then its operator didn’t so much as shrug… AI is many many negative things, but one of the most frustrating is that it allows people to externalize responsibility for their actions while managing to effortlessly cause a disproportionate amount of disruption."

The Winner Who Fired Nothing

The only actor whose strategic position has unambiguously improved as a result of Operation Epic Fury is Beijing.

China entered the conflict with reserves sufficient to withstand a complete cessation of Iranian exports through the decisive months of any hypothetical conflict.

It is receiving bilateral safe passage guarantees from the IRGC
— vessels transmitting “OWNER — CHINA” on their AIS transponders have been transiting the strait.

Its hundred-day reserve buffer insulates it from the price shock hitting every other major importer.

And the depletion of American interceptor stocks over Hormuz directly reduces Washington’s capacity to defend Taiwan
— the only military theater that matters to Beijing’s long-term calculus.

China did not fire a single missile.

It filled its tanks and waited.

This is what preparation looks like when it is done correctly.

The Hormuz Trap: How Beijing Won a War Without Firing a Single Missile

On June 15, 1900, Major General Stessell sent a dispatch to Vice Admiral Alexeyev reporting the successful storming of the Eastern Arsenal…

I do find it fascinating how many “there shouldn’t be any such thing as intellectual property rights” folks have been making arguments for stronger IP rights if it undermines AI.

I don’t think strengthening IP rights generally would serve the common good. But also I don’t think eliminating those rights entirely was ever a reasonable position outside of a communal culture.

The scale of these wind farms is beyond what we're equipped to process in day-to-day human experience. They conquer the landscape in ways we can't fully comprehend even when they're in front of us. In a sense, they're abstract sculptures of themselves, mostly visible in fleeting glances from interstate highways or airplane windows.

Infrastructure is heroic.

Bluesky Reveals Massive Hidden Investment

Today #Bluesky revealed that in April 2025 they received a whopping $100M venture capital investment lead by Bain Capital Crypto and that they KEPT IT A SECRET.

So the answer to the big mystery Who Owns Bluesky? (https://mastodon.online/@mastodonmigration/116025246450023071) is finally out. Crypto VCs.

Now, we should be asking why did this company that prides itself on transparency and "decentralization" decide they needed to hide who owned the company?

An unexpected side-effect of AI is seeing so many right-wing chuds admitting to having no interiority.

They're falling over themselves boasting about being NPCs.

Opposition to Israel has NEVER made me feel like I was in danger as a Jew.

But goddamn I feel more in danger because an apartheid state on the other side of the world is committing genocide and war and saying they’re doing it in my name.

I hate that wearing something that may identify me as Jewish may indicate support for a country I want nothing to do with.

For Such a Time as This

"The Protestant denomination that loved Donald Trump the most in 2024?

Easily the Assemblies of God.

He received 88% of their votes.
There was only one majority white denomination that clearly favored Kamala Harris:

Episcopalians."

~ Ryan Burge

See the chart below accompanying Burge's remarks.

Again: white Christians own the Trump presidency, its manifold cruelties and attack on democracy.
