A discussion with Amelia about how our dog Mariana is getting too heavy for her to lift led to talking about getting Mari a little cart, which of course led to this.
After a month of waiting, we learned this morning that Embark believes this little girl to be a Doberman Pit Bully Shepard. I think we are in for a wild ride!
Our sweet little Swell Bear succumbed to a long fight against cancer tonight. I thought I was preparing myself for the hurt over the past year, but I was so, so wrong. Her struggle is over, and I am thankful for that. She gave us so much love and care. Goodbye, Swellie. I love you so.
I bought a boat! Now I just need to survive getting her up here from San Diego.
Swell has never refused a walk before this.

It didn’t occur to me to share this last Friday, mostly because I wasn’t feeling well, but Buddy’s progress now that he’s medicated is subtle but remarkable. A few weeks ago, there is no way he would have been calm enough in my presence to be curious about my phone as I took a close up photo of him. He would’ve been pinned to the back of his crate as far from me as he could place himself. Now, he’s actually booping the lens.
It’s rare that Buddy feels comfortable enough around me to let me take a photo of him, but he’s taking some medication that seems to be helping a little, so I get to share what a ridiculously cute dog he is.
