I used to hike past this dead tree when it was still standing. It had several gray Tinder Conks [Fomes fomentarius] growing out of it.
After the tree fell, fresh tan mushrooms, grew in at a different angle from their predecessors. The fungus adapted to the change of posture.
So if a tree falls and there’s no one around to hear it, well… at least you might be able to tell WHEN it fell. 🤗
RussIt has always seemed to me that these two frogs are having relationship issues. They can't face each other, but they are not ready to give up on each other either. I hope they talked their problems out.
