I have a very strange experience with Foundation Models, where my next word prediction session returns uppercase words when in Safari, otherwise lowercase. There is nothing in the instructions or prompts that change, and it's always running inside a keyboard extension, so Safari being the host must somehow be affecting the system logic in a very strange way.
KeyboardKit 10.4 is out! 🚀 This version improves the keyboard launch time and adds ways to work around the breaking host application changes in iOS 26.4.

@grumpygamer @thomasfuchs I always play the EGA versions of MI and Quest for Glory when I revisit them.
@graste Microsoft absolutely suck at naming. Apple do too (anyone remember The New iPad?), but their stellar product quality has generally managed to overcome the naming. In Microsoft’s case, we got the Xbox naming debacle, with One S, Series S, Series X, etc., which tanked the entire product line.
St Julian’s in Malta seems like the perfect mix of maximum capitalism and minimum taxation. The hotels and commercial parts are top notch while most of the coastal line is cut off from the public and the few remaining parts are dirty or ruined.
@danielpunkass That requires US big tech to deviate from their current enshittification strategies, and I doubt that more than I doubt a potential bright AI future. Alternatively AI models must become open and available to all, more like the Internet than a service.
The video voiceover is unfortunately AI and a bit flawed (random “hence”s are scattered though it), but the content is stellar.
Then I found this video, which exactly and wonderfully describes what I felt in my bones thinking about this matter this time around. How photons are NOT particles traveling through space and how the speed of light is not a speed, but a conversion unit. https://youtu.be/QqcLRZdVBIg?is=KgP0s4HUFpKWuLUD
Why the Speed of Light Is NOT a Speed - Leonard Susskind

Listening to a podcast discussing Hail Mary and speed of light led me to new (maybe incorrect) insights. Since you can’t accelerate to C (energy tangent -> infinity) and time slows down exponentially, does time then stand still for photons, who DO travel in C…meaning they can be everywhere at once?
@vampiress Dead Space’s diegetic UI.
