If you planned to spend some time tonight reading my blog, I'm sorry - it's down for server maintenance🤖
Not delighted with the ISP, who said it'd be happening sometime this month, but also said they'd confirm precisely which date it would happen. (And the error message seems unnecessarily harsh.)
uh yeah Moira, you've got the supposed rort entirely backwards. #Myki #SpringSt
Interesting to see that some Myki readers are enabled for Tap And Go at stations included in the trial but on platforms that only serve the lines that are not included.
Seems like in the first week, it’s mostly run smoothly. Probably more customer info needed as it rolls out more widely. #Melbourne
Tram platform stop at the Showgrounds was opened in early December, but 3 months later only one entrance is open... seems to be waiting for traffic light commissioning. (Also waiting for low floor trams; likely starting later this year.) #Melbourne
There’s usually a story behind warning signs. I wonder what it is for these. They’ve been popping up at a lot of gated railway stations. #Melbourne #Myki
hmm I think I need to switch to a better camera.
Tap And Go options displayed on a #Myki reader yesterday. Seemed pretty responsive.
Good to be catching up at last with this option. It’ll make a big difference to new and occasional PT users, removing a significant point of friction. #Melbourne
#Myki Tap And Go public trial announced, starting on Upfield, Craigieburn, Seymour, Ballarat lines on Monday.
This quick video is from the test centre a few weeks ago: locked iPhone, tap with Express Mode works. Mastercard was correctly charged.
Will be great to have this fully rolled out!💳🚉😀👍

Somebody blinked. Five footy special trains from Richmond to the Dandenong line tonight.
One can be a metro purist, but for big MCG events it makes sense to do this rather than leave platforms unused and lots of passengers crowding onto other lines. #Melbourne
To celebrate me finally getting to the end of my Europe 2025 #travel blogging, here are some pics I didn't get to use.
It had been 8 years since my previous overseas trip... I hope the next one will be sooner!
