At approximately 2026-May-15 13:44 UTC, #asteroid #2026JN4 impacted Earth's atmosphere shortly after discovery. The 1m-wide rock was not a threat. Most that size are simply not discovered before becoming a common fireball meteor. Anyone got a high res version? This is Exhibit 1 from the Comey indictment. If the pic is from North Carolina coast, the 8 looks like mostly Dinocardium robusta, the giant Atlantic cockle. The 6 probably the same but stained by anoxic sediment. The 4+7 look like a mix of Crassostrea virginica (Eastern oyster) and Geukensia demissa (Eastern ribbed mussel). Maybe also some ponderous ark, Noetia ponderosa and maybe also a Glycymeris (bittersweet clam) in the 8 #clamFacts

Two or three weeks ago, we lost a pair of our downtown Sacramento sky cams on one of the office buildings. The microwave link went down. We were stretched too thin to go investigate. Finally one of the engineers went last week and found the whole ass building dark and locked up.

Turns out it lost power weeks ago and they still haven't revived it. It's a 22 or 23 floor building.
