Before I go, let me give a HUGE “Thank You” to my wife, La'Toya, for taking care of all the details and ensuring a memorable experience for our guests and me. Additionally, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my friends and family who came out to celebrate with me. Hopefully, you will be willing to join us on our next adventure.

Until next time.

I was so pleased with our execution that I look forward to doing it again, but I would consider upgrading the event to an actual location that matches the theme of the game. Imagine going to a castle or a ski-resort in the mountains. That would be a real immersive experience.

Confusing Clues: Many clues were straightforward and clear; however, at one point in the game, there were location-based clues that didn’t make sense. Who knows, maybe it was only a problem for those of us who are challenged in this department.

What tips would I give someone wanting to host a Murder Mystery Party?

Ensure you have someone willing to read through the instructions and prepare the handouts. For hosts, preparation is critical to a successful event.

Where do we go from here?

What didn’t work?

While I appreciated the game, there are areas where things could have been better:

Customizable Printouts: For our event, I would have liked to see more elegant fonts and imagery for the printouts. In my opinion, the introductory video and clipart were a bit campy. Having access to customize the design easily would have been a bonus.

What worked?

I believe the company, My Mystery Party, created a solid product with clear instructions on hosting and playing the game. I like that they have games for every age group, group size, theme, and experience level.

As I wrap up my final thoughts around the Murder Mystery Party, let me begin by answering a few questions:

How was the experience overall?

Overall, I had a fantastic time with everyone who attended. The game was a perfect way to ensure that all of our guests felt engaged and important. At least, that’s what I hope people walked away feeling.

While the mystery may be revealed, there are still a few questions that remain:

How was the experience overall?
What worked?
What didn’t?

I will attempt to answer those questions in the next post.

It was hilarious watching the fashionistas in the room add their flair for the dramatic. Even more entertaining was watching the models strut their stuff down the runway.

In the third and final round, everyone gathered together and completed their accusation sheets. Then, they were handed another envelope and asked to read their “Solution Card” aloud. As we went around the room, each character began to reveal their piece of the puzzle until the entire mystery was made known.

Attendees moved strategically from person to person trying to filter out useful information from dead-end distractions. It was a fast-paced round filled with laughter, suspicious behavior, and broken promises.

My advice to you is “Trust NO one!” #zeroTrust

At the end of the round, we took a small break and split up into teams of three. Each group was challenged to design their most stylish outfit made entirely out of toilet paper.

With uncertainty and fear slowly growing among the partygoers, we all soon realized that this individual was murdered and the killer was still among us.

Over the second half of Round 2, attendees were charged with talking to one another in search of clues that would uncover the killer’s identity and motive for murder. In hindsight, this part of the evening felt as if it were going at light speed.
