Matt Blaze@GottaLaff Aside from the obvious necessity to protect election workers, I'm sad that this has somehow become a partisan issue.
Imagine if it were some other group of public servants being attacked - firefighters or road workers or postal workers or whatever. We'd quickly be unanimous in demanding they be better protected. Because of course we would.
(As noted, a few other groups - teachers, public health workers, etc - lately have similar problems. But that just underscores how nuts this is.)
