Imagine if, instead of spending untold money and effort on making the physics of batteries mimic the physics of petrol, countries around the world spent much less on making the infrastructure of mobility match the capacities of walkers and bikers. It has been done before, successfully. Spending time in Amsterdam reminds me how *cheap* bicycle infrastructure is.
