Earlier I posted about how AI can't logic, and math is an example. Well clearly I was proven right today when booking hotels, from Perplexity: €1,157.56 (about $1,338-$1,355 USD) is not cheaper than $1,256.27 contrary to what the #Tokens believe.

Voice Cloning is out there, it's free and it's self-hosted. Anyone using #voice match security as a check should already be looking for better alternatives. #privacy #security https://github.com/Teletambe/LuxTTS

In case anyone wonders what my weekends look like, well I'm finally getting around to my new homelab NAS build in the Supermicro CSE 24 bay chassis.

It's a nice upgrade and replacement for my old Netgear ProNAS.

Nextcloud, TeslaMate, and Zoneminder are a bit slow on the old Xeon in the ProNAS and I'll be able to host PLEX directly from the machine instead of another machine, maybe even run some game servers from it too.

#homelab #privacy means owning your own data.

Well, the US CBP entry for visitors is becoming far worse than what I experienced in China in 2018/19 with the changes the current administration wants for US visitors. The CCP didn't require a mobile app, once you're in the US rights apply to everyone.

As Brian Krebs posted, it's just as bad as it looks from the privacy perspective

#privacymatters for everyone, and this is not privacy, I think the government needs to consider the 4th amendment exists re that App

Oh man that's a rough one, also 81% already pwned is really an unsettling number, at this point we might need to start tracking # pwned and also haven't changed their passwords since the last breach. #privacy #security
Wow, what an interesting email to get on Christmas Eve, turns out Themis Bar Review Bar Exam study subscribers got notice of a class action settlement over Themis sharing user data (like video watches) with Facebook's targeting pixel without consent, violating VPPA privacy laws. Privacy law at work! #ClassAction #DataPrivacy

An unfortunate sign of the times, RAM that I got for $50 and was holding onto because I got a 64 gig kit instead earlier in the year, is now selling for $325 new ....this is absolutely insane. I feel bad for anyone buying or building a PC now.

If anyone's wondering that price tracker is Keepa.

Today I've been spammed by mortgage lenders with over 30 calls since 8am. Somehow my info got dumped into one of their bulk call forms around that time this morning, however I've also been on the Federal Do Not Call list for years and I redo it yearly. I went to the site today again, Clearly this could be why:

Time for some professional angry letter writing from me to these bulk mortgage companies.

The fact that sites are sti using unsalted passwords in 2025 at the very least is insanely poor security. Absolutely wild.
You can't have #privacy without basic #security and clearly that was a problem here.

#TIL ChatGPT no let's you schedule jobs. I have an automatic notification for any changes to the USD -> GBP Forex rates. This one is hourly, I've changed it now to be only when there is a trade able change when compared to a rolling window average.

Very cool feature, I wonder how long it will continue for.
