I had to share this view because it is simply stunning. These are taken from Meyrin, Switzerland, in the direction of Mt .Blanc.
I have no idea of what came to Withings to send this marketing email.
It has so many phishing markers it is unreal, it was one second away from the junk button until I decided it was interesting to look at it first (as I often do for phishing emails, file under "professional deformation"):
1. the subject, oh dear…
2. the main banner, oh double dear
3. the link to click on, oh please…
What you cannot see is that the link has six lines of tracking options.
Also, they are a French company, I did not give them consent to marketing, what about the GDPR?

Oh, the Swiss AI has given me a professorship in theoretical physics!
This is actually quite insulting for a mathematician.
P.S. No, there is no other Arrigo Triulzi who is a professor of theoretical physics, no homonym.
This is a serious request from Joern to help his autistic child with an undiagnosed condition.
I am reposting the content from Bluesky¹ as an image (with Alt-text).
They are based in Berlin, if you have contacts then please reach out to him.

… and, following ure0 and autoconf fw_update grabbed the firmware and I am super-happy as it also recognised the battery!
I had promised I would try BSD on the ThinkPad 14s Gen 6. Well, #OpenBSD 7.7/arm64 -current from snapshot¹ dated 7th August 2025 installs from USB in no time (as every other OpenBSD install) and, well, I am so pleased.
No WiFi, etc. etc. but hey, this is wonderful :) I'll grab my USB NIC so that I can try to upgrade and install the firmware.
Thank you #OpenBSD team :)

I could not resist taking this photo of a lonely tree from the IC5 on the Pied du Jura line between Olten and Solothurn near Oesingen.
I had taken a similar photo of the same tree earlier this year during a terrible thunderstorm, but I appear to have sadly lost it.
A meadow of buttercups near Meyrin.
