It's time to celebrate #OST2's 3rd anniversary! So what happened this last year at OST2? Let's take a walk down memory hierarchy lane! π
In Aug. Cedric Halbronn @saidelike released 3 classes which combined have an average completion time of 39h33m!
https://ost2.fyi/Dbg3011 - "Debuggers 3011: Advanced WinDbg" - 5h57m avg (+ any time required to take earlier WinDbg classes as needed)
https://ost2.fyi/Arch2821 - "Architecture 2821: Windows Kernel Internals 2" - 4h43m avg (+ any time required to take earlier Architecture classes as needed)
https://ost2.fyi/Exp4011 - "Exploitation 4011: Windows Kernel Exploitation: Race Condition + UAF in KTM" - 28h53m avg
In Aug. Sina Karvandi released "Debuggers 3301: HyperDbg", with an average completion time of 16h11m.
https://ost2.fyi/Dbg3301
This class about his custom hypervisor-based debugger, gives REs an opportunity to go even deeper with their Windows Internals skills and even debug WinDbg!
In Mar. Dimitar Tomov released "Trusted Computing 1101: Introductory Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) usage", with an average completion time of 7h37m.
https://ost2.fyi/TC1101
This class provides a practical introduction to TPMs, to start writing code to make use of hardware security.
In Mar. Xeno Kovah released "Arch1005: RISC-V Assembly", with an average completion time of 28h26m.
https://ost2.fyi/Arch1005
This class gives a heads up into the up-and-coming RISC-V International RISC-V ISA, which is quickly taking over the low end microcontroller space, and which has designs to take overy everything!
In June Erin Cornelius @e_er1n & Xeno Kovah released "Debuggers 1102: Introductory Ghidra", with an average completion time of 4h36m.
https://ost2.fyi/Dbg1102
This mini-class is integrated with the Arch1001 & Arch1005 asm classes, to teach how to use Ghidra as a wrapper around WinDbg & GDB.
This past year we also took on our first Partners and Sponsors. (And we're always looking for more ;))
Partners like Trusted Computing Group help us directly fund the creation of new classses like TC1101 (already released) and TC1102 (starting beta soon!) So thanks to them!
Sponsors provide us with funds to help with overhead costs such as running the site, paying video editors, etc.
Some sponsors like @nccgroupplc, @3mdeb and Dark Mentor LLC are "donors in kind" who fund their employees making classes for OST2! So thanks to them, and thanks to our other sponsors at the Gold: @Crowdfense and Bronze levels: @cyber5w and @IncludeSecurity
If you want your company to sponsor OST2, reach out via email at sponsor at ost2.fyi
And finally, thanks to everyone who's donated individually to OST2 this past year! Whether with corporate matching through work (we are an actual charity registered in the US after all) or individually through the YouTube page, this shows us that you truly value what we do!
We're committed to using individual donors' funds to always directly pass through to instructors (never for overhead costs), and we'll be paying our current instructors an honorarium this coming year to show everyone's gratitude
