What are the odds that Lil' Finder Guy is in the goodie bag at WWDC this year? Now that would be epic.
Now also here.

Huh. Oct. 19, 1950. I had no idea Ike had ever spoken at Carnegie Tech in #Pittsburgh. The speech was carried live on Mutual Radio.
"Although this suggestion is repeatedly made, none has yet explained how war prevents war ... war begets conditions that beget further war," Ike said.
‼️ Boosts greatly appreciated! Due to “because I felt like it” (I just want everyone to play), @junior playing card decks are now only $5 each. Also, box sets are now only $12. Two decks (reminder: $5 each) in a nice, lightweight, portable wood box, for only $2 more. And that’s not all! The poker dice box is also only $12! I really encourage you giving poker dice a try.
Please enjoy games with your friends and family.

We’ve passed the $31k mark on our retro gaming Kickstarter. It’s starting to feel like at least one stretch goal may become a reality. The more we raise, the better Ollie’s Arcade gets but also the longer we keep creating as an indie dev.
Thanks to all who have kicked in as well as helped spread the word. There’s still more than a week left! 🕹️🫶🤞

“It just works!”
#Swift is designed to be an approachable language, where developers coming to Swift can become productive quickly and have fun doing so.
also Swift:

Still catching up, but happy that the cars look like cars.

I'm behind on posting these (and I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up), but here's my first one. I was trying for Groucho Marx, but ended up more like a 70s sitcom dad 😛.
100%. I know Brent is talking about a different platform, but I think the sentiment is the same for something like Visual Basic 6.
At best I’m a hobbyist programmer. VB6 was super simple to create apps just for me or a small team. Draw a UI, double-click a button to add an action, run it.
SwiftUI sort of helps in that regard, but it’s easy to quickly get bogged down in the newest concurrency approach or Core Data or which macros to use. I want VB6 for Apple platforms. https://indieweb.social/@brentsimmons/115107586220407045
On my blog: “And it seems retro in the worst way that we’re still using anything other than a scripting language for most of our code. We should be using something simple and light that can configure toolbars, handle networking callbacks, query databases, manage views, and so on.” https://inessential.com/2025/08/28/easy-app-writing.html
