Didn't Trump say he would broker peace in Ukraine within 24 hours if he was elected? Anyway, I've forgotten all about the Epstein files.
I buy autobiographies from charity shops, 'sign' them after googling authors autographs, then donate them to charity shops in other towns. Thatcher my best result yet, bought for £1.50 unsigned, priced at £95 when 'signed'. I'm Robin Hood with a biro.
@bencomp Thanks for your input. Well, I have had a Google Pixel phone for some years (working on changing that setup) and a Gmail account for many many more years. So as it stands my contacts are all entwined with Google. I guess I want to address that by having full control of my contacts and not be in a position where Google can keep track of this personal information and share that data with whoever they choose.

@meissa - Thanks for your input. I used Thunderbird extensively in the past (a long time ago now) but I wasn't aware of the CardBook add-on.

DAVx5 I did come across briefly during my research so will check it out some more.

I have had a quick play around with Nextcloud (via a cloud hosted provider). Can I ask - for your Nextcloud backend, do you host this on your own web server or perhaps self-host this on a local network which can be accessed remotely?

@eliasp @monica I remember coming across this whilst doing some research a while back. Will take a closer look again. Thanks
Looking for recommendations for a #privacy focused #opensource solution for #contactmanagement. Ideally something with flexibility to cater for custom data fields. Running #linux on desktop and #android on mobile atm so sync capabilities would be good but may end up running Linux on mobile eventually. Wondering whether a solution that supports #carddav is the way to go? Open to suggestions and would welcome any boosts. Cheers & let's #degoogle

The first wave of tech made information free.
The second made attention scarce.
The third makes reality optional.
A photo that I snapped an hour ago of the San Francisco #NoKings protest. I estimate about 150,000 people in total.

UPDATE 2: We're carefully back online again, with a few exceptions:

Can we have a lill boost please? The fediverse is the only place we're on.

Lokjo - a European online map (@lokjo@mapstodon.space)

Moin moin Europe! And we're carefully back online again, with a few exceptions. https://www.lokjo.com First, a huge thanks to https://www.geoapify.com for understanding the situation and delivering tiles while we fix a replacement. There's 3 exceptions, for the moment: - A basic OSM map display. (modern version comes back later) - No satellite images. (if somebody knows a EU provider that would be great) - the feedback form is taken offline. (no time for that) That's all for now.
