25 years as Apple Worldwide Developer Relations exec. Retired in 2021 to indulge my passions of retro computing, classic Porsches and Lego. What more could you want?
@JasonAnthonyGuy @jagsworkshop AirPods Pro 3 are way better at noise cancellation than the AirPods Pro 2 and I mean WAY better. However in my opinion they are much more uncomfortable due to the tighter fitting silicon grommets.
@fergycool @kalleboo @polpo I will dig out my eMate over the weekend and see if there is anything different about it (drivers/software etc) that allowed this to work. There could be software of some sort on there. I was the Product Manager for Education for eMate for Apple Australia back in the day.
@kalleboo If you use the Namer app to name the ImageWriter with the LocalTalk card it should appear in the chooser. Unnamed ImageWriters don’t seem to appear.
@europlus @nygl wow. I missed the G on this one by a long way.
@kalleboo I was able to print to an ImageWriter II from my eMate last year on GlobalTalk. It only worked via an ImageWriter with a real Apple LocalTalk card connected via two real Macs running AIR at both ends.
@nygl Happy St Patrick’s Day
@JasonAnthonyGuy @jagsworkshop The last product I bought on staff purchased before I retired from Apple was the original AirPods Max. I used them a few times until the AirPods Pro 2 came along. I don’t even know where my AirPods Max are but my AirPods Pro (now v3) are in my pocket ready to go every day.
@jagsworkshop @JasonAnthonyGuy OMG. I feel exactly the same and even came up with the same solution. I actually handed a pair of new unused wired headphones (NOS iPod headphones I got a bag of from Apple Service back in the day, including my 3.5mm to USB-C adapter) to a particularly obnoxious Millenium sitting next to me on a flight from Vegas to LA a few days ago. They accepted them but didn’t understand my stress. I was clearly an old man telling them to get off my lawn.
@byteknight can you share the details on how you got at 400 MHz G3 “6100”. Only have a 66 MHz 601.
@nygl @Charles I recently picked up an LC630 to move it and the plastics crumbled from my touch. I was left holding a metal case.
