This is the social media account of the ERC Synergy Grant "The Cultures of the Cryosphere. Infrastructures, Politics, and Futures of Artificial Cooling" (2024-2030).
The research project is a collaboration between Suzana Alpsancar (Paderborn University), Alexander Friedrich (TU Darmstadt | @alexanderfriedrich), Stefan Höhne (KWI Essen | @StefanHoehne), and Bronwyn Parry (ANU Canberra | @ANUResearch).

Das Kulturwissenschaftliche Institut Essen (KWI) ist ein interdisziplinäres Forschungskolleg für Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften in der Tradition internationaler Institutes for Advanced Study. Als interuniversitäres Kolleg der Ruhr-Universität Bochum, der Technischen Universität Dortmund und der Universität Duisburg-Essen arbeitet das Institut mit den Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern seiner Trägerhochschulen und mit weiteren Partnern in NRW und im In- und Ausland zusammen.

Im vom ERC geförderten Projekt CultCryo untersuchen Forscher*innen unter Beteiligung des ISOE die globale „künstliche Kryosphäre“ erstmals systematisch.
