Had to rotator cuff surgery yesterday. This is my 4th time, 2nd for the left shoulder.

Good news is they went in expecting a possible torn rotator cuff tendon based on MRI, but found only fraying and inflammation instead. They cleaned everything up arthroscopically.

Hail science and medicine!

This Is Just To Say

I have given
the speech
about the war
in Iran

and which
you were probably
hoping would
explain things

Forgive me
it was unhinged
so slurred
and so vague

Pulled my 15+ year old Logitech G13 out of the closet to let me game with one arm in a sling. Took a bit of driver install magic to make it work.

An elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

Discussion is like how nerdly friends would chat about things rather than high minded punditry.

From smart home trouble to FCC crazy, they cover the gamut, though I do tend to skip the phone talk. :)

Great article and graphics on the NBA draft and teams tanking [Gift Link]

NBA’s tanking problem can be fixed with this unusual points system.

Teams are deliberately tanking to game the draft. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Technology rarely disappears once discovered.

Truthfully, AI & LLMs aren't going away.

You can't 'wish it away to the cornfields'.

Unlike leaded gas, DDT, or CFCs, there's no replacement waiting.

What we can do is shape how they’re used with standards, laws, and norms.
