I have two big on-going research projects on how families cope...(1) with disaster-induced closures in critical transportation infrastructure like sidewalks and greenways, and (2) when their children's school bus doesn't run.
Two days before the start of the new school year, and my kid was left off the school bus list and the only remotely bikeable route is closed for over a year due to flooding.
When they say 'study what matters to you' I do not think this is what they meant.
