So a funny thing happened while watching #TheFlash last night: I binged the three available "New World" episodes and actually felt a bit of anxiety when the fourth part hadn't aired yet.
You see, it's been an incredibly long time since I've been invested in the show. When it's good, it's real good, and, alas, it hasn't been good for a very long time. Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes' absence leaves a huge hole that the newer castmates can't fill. I'm surprised (and pleased) to find Jesse Martin is still around, though. Felt like his Joe was getting a slow fade retirement from the series.
But as a former fan, I still peek in from time to time.
And this "New World" arc -- one I assume will lead into the series finale? -- has been a surprisingly good tale. It feels like a quite decent setup for an exit. (EDIT: Yep, 4-part finale.) I'm not even 100% familiar with some of the characters, but it's written well enough and compelling enough to fill in the blanks.
Decent so far!
