I haven't cross-stitched since July of last year so to get back into it, I chose to start with this tiny border collie and I just finished it this week!  

It definitely looks very amateurish and I will confess I did not use high quality threads, I think it shows especially in the eyes.

It was still very fun and I like the result! I see Border Collie dogs often when we go for walks, so I wanted to start with that.😊
